Stock requests

A stock request is the case file for receiving, moving, reserving or issuing a part. It carries a record number, subject, required date, quantity, item, owner and location. Its revision gives Inventory Reviewer a precise version to decide. The request, decision and resulting records give each person a way to trace what changed and who acted.

Inventory Coordinator preparing an urgent replacement part request chooses the SKU, base unit, requested quantity and required date. They attach the relevant evidence and send the record for review. Inventory Reviewer records a decision and reason against the source revision. A return sends the work back for correction before another review.

• Set the scope. Start with the organization and part, then confirm the request location and any lot used for the case.
• Keep the decision. Inventory Reviewer checks the submitted revision and records a decision with a reason.
• Trace the effect. Inventory Coordinator follows the reservation or posted movement back to the approved request.

Agree how owners describe receipt, move, reserve and issue work in the subject, when a counterparty location is required, and which evidence must be attached. Decide who may submit, review and execute. An administrator maintaining membership does not thereby become the stock approver. Inventory Coordinator and Inventory Reviewer should rehearse the usual case and an exception using the same request.

Create a draft request, submit it, and inspect the review decision. Change a material field after submission and check that the old decision is not treated as approval of the new revision. After approval, check that the execution effect and receipt refer to the same request. Inventory Coordinator shows the source request; Inventory Reviewer explains the decision on its revision. Auditor traces the outcome without changing records. Pause a case with a mismatched item, location, lot or revision before another action.

Use an actual inbound part and a separate issue case when deciding how the team describes work in the subject. Inventory Coordinator should set the intended item and location before review. Inventory Reviewer checks the revision, quantity and counterparty; a later change sends the case through review again.
