Work through exceptions with Proto

Ask Proto to prepare configuration and help trace operating exceptions.

It can

  • Sales Representative: Find orders awaiting acceptance and show the customer commitment and credit review.
  • Purchasing Manager: Compare approved supplier orders with actual arrivals and accepted receipt quantities.
  • Warehouse Manager: Show reservations, transfer transit, pick work and delivery exceptions by warehouse.
  • Accountant: Trace an invoice to eligible delivery scope and a cash application to the receipt balance.

Stays with a person

  • Proto can prepare work and explain source links.
  • A named person makes independent approval decisions and verifies physical handoffs, external bank evidence and period reconciliation.
  • Keep the decision reason with the current revision. Start with the operating plan.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set the operating basis

Choose an entity, currency, users, authority limits, product units, warehouses and accounting period.

  2. Load trading partners and stock

Review customer and supplier terms, active products, available positions and opening balances.

  3. Rehearse commitments

Run a customer offer and approval, a supplier purchase and a partial receipt.

  4. Rehearse execution

Reserve stock, pick, dispatch, record a partial delivery and authorize a bounded return.

  5. Reconcile finance

Approve an invoice, apply customer cash, review a supplier payment and close an agreed period.

FAQ

Scope, rollout and pricing for Aerospace ERP.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure ERP for Aerospace for your business. Pilot one entity, a small product set, a supplier receipt and a customer order through delivery and collection.

Can we approve customer orders?

Yes. Sales Manager reviews the current accepted order revision, while Finance Manager handles a bounded credit exception when required.

How are partial supplier receipts handled?

Record the actual arrival, then independently accept or reject bounded receipt quantities. Match bills only to eligible accepted scope.

Can stock move between warehouses?

Yes. Track same-entity transfers through dispatch, owned transit and actual destination receipt.

How does assembly work?

Release a work order against an effective bill of materials, routing, output product and standard cost, then record actual operation and completion quantities.

What happens when a delivery is partial?

Record actual dispatch and the accepted, refused, failed or damaged outcome for each attempt and line. Keep the original order commitment visible.

How are returns controlled?

Authorize a return within the original unreturned scope and record physical disposition separately from the financial credit.

How is customer cash applied?

Post actual receipt evidence and allocate only within unapplied cash and eligible open invoice balance.

Who can close a period?

Accountant reconciles the close tasks; Finance Manager makes the guarded close decision and separately authorizes a reopen.

Can we use more than one entity?

Yes. Keep stock ownership, books, currency and approval scope tied to the correct entity.
