Intercompany Reconciliation · Available now

Bring intercompany charges and settlement decisions into one review trail.

Trading entities can owe each other for shared services, goods or allocations. Intercompany Reconciliation keeps the two sides of a charge in separate payable and receivable records, ties each side to its counterparty and ledger account, and gives finance a place to review the resulting balances.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Define scope

Choose the first trading entity pair, period, charge type and owners for each finance decision.

  2. Prepare reference data

Check entity codes, partner records, ledger accounts, team assignments and sign-off limits.

  3. Load opening work

Bring in a small set of paired charges, their lines, settlement references and supporting files.

  4. Rehearse actions

Issue a receivable, approve a payable and release a settlement through their native actions; inspect decisions and receipts.

  5. Review the period

Compare charge balances, bank references and journal lines with the owning systems before expanding the scope.

Scope, rollout and pricing for Intercompany Reconciliation.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Intercompany Reconciliation for your business. Pilot one trading entity pair, one period, one paired charge and one linked settlement before bringing in the wider group.

Who approves a payable?

Controller reviews the pending charge and uses the payable approval action. The action records a sign-off decision and operation receipt with the guarded status change.

How is a receivable issued?

Receivables Accountant prepares a draft with partner, lines and amount, then uses the native issue action. The action records its receipt before the charge is marked Sent.

Can we follow partial settlements?

The charge headers retain the amount settled and balance due. A settlement links the movement to the payable or receivable so finance can review what remains.

Where do we review released movements?

Payment Pipeline shows the movement state. Treasury Payment Register includes the date, method, amount and bank reference for finance review.

How do we compare the two sides of a charge?

Use the entity, counterparty, partner reference, amount and linked settlement records. Senior Accountant reviews differences before the period decision.

What happens when a payable is disputed?

Keep the disputed charge visible to the payables desk, record the correction owner and return it for a new decision after the underlying details change.

Where are supporting documents kept?

Evidence records hold a link to a document and the parent record it supports. The team can keep invoice, remittance, bank statement or approval material with the relevant charge or movement.

Can an auditor read the history?

External Auditor can be given read access to charges, journals, decisions, receipts and evidence while the finance actions stay with their owners.
