Ask Proto to prepare the next review

Ask an assistant to find and prepare finance work while people keep decisions.

It can

  • AP Specialist: Find pending lessor invoices due this week and show the payable balance with the source record.
  • AR Specialist: List overdue partner billings with amounts received and remaining balances.
  • Treasury Analyst: Find released payments awaiting reconciliation and show their bank references.
  • Staff Accountant: Show draft journal entries by accounting period and identify out-of-balance results.

Stays with a person

  • A person reviews the invoice before approval and checks a payment before release.
  • A bank match needs the actual statement result.
  • Proto can prepare a queue, find source records and explain the next step, but the accountable finance role makes the decision and verifies the outcome.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Define ownership

Confirm the legal entities, lessors, business partners and finance team members that will enter or review work. Assign the AP, AR, Treasury and Controller handoffs.

  2. Prepare reference data

Review the chart of accounts, accounting periods, counterparties, payment terms and approval limits. Agree the attachment and reference conventions.

  3. Run invoice cases

Enter a lessor invoice with lines and evidence. Rehearse pending approval, the Controller decision, payment scheduling and release.

  4. Run billing cases

Create a partner billing, use the send action, enter a partial receipt and follow its remaining balance.

  5. Check accounting and cash

Reconcile a released payment to bank evidence. Review journal lines, totals and draft entries in their periods.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Lease Finance Operations.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Lease Finance Operations for your business. Start with one organization, a few lessors, a partner billing case and a payment rehearsal.

What does the invoice approval action record?

It moves an eligible invoice to Approved and records a review decision and an operation receipt. The Controller should inspect the source invoice and coding before using the action.

How do I find disputed charges?

Use the AP Bills Worklist or Lease Invoice Control Desk to open the underlying invoice. Keep the lessor's correspondence attached to that record.

Can I send partner billings?

Yes. Prepare a draft billing with partner, amount and lines, then use the native send action. Check its operation receipt and retain delivery evidence under your chosen process.

How are partial collections shown?

The billing carries the amount received and balance due. Its status can show Partially Paid, while a linked inbound payment records the cash movement.

What is the difference between released and reconciled payment?

Released is the outcome of the payment release step. Reconciled means Treasury has matched the movement to bank evidence and recorded the bank reference.

Can payments link to both payables and receivables?

A payment record can reference a lease invoice or lease billing. Its direction distinguishes outbound movement from inbound collection.

What should I check before reviewing a journal?

Check organization, accounting period, source, ledger accounts, debit and credit totals, and the out-of-balance result. Open the lines when a total needs explanation.

Where do I find the decision trail?

Review decisions record who decided, when and under what conditions. Operation receipts record whether a native action ran and its result. Source documents remain on their related records.

How should I prepare for a new entity?

Add the organization and verify its country and base currency, then review counterparty assignments, finance team members and accounting periods before entering transactions.
