Ask Proto to prepare the review

Use Proto to prepare client work, review linked records and check the next handoff.

It can

  • Engagement Owner: Show the client's active engagements, linked proposals and due dates before a scope review.
  • Consultant: Find the right parent engagement and summarize entered versus approved hours on its service entries.
  • Independent Reviewer: Gather the engagement revision, proposal terms and attached evidence for a decision.
  • Billing Lead: Find approved time lacking an invoice reference and prepare the billing check.

Stays with a person

  • A person decides whether a scope or service entry is approved.
  • The agent can assemble the linked facts and help prepare the next action, but the named reviewer should check the current revision, give a reason and record the decision.
  • External effects and billing references need confirmation from the system that owns them.

  3. Rehearse the review

Submit a linked proposal, use a separate reviewer and check that the decision identifies the source revision and reason.

  4. Check delivery and billing

Enter service time, review approved hours and match invoice references to the billing handoff.

  5. Accept and reconcile

Add relevant evidence, record acceptance and inspect the operation receipt before closing the work.

FAQ

Scope, rollout and pricing for PM + CRM for Consulting.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure PM + CRM for Consulting for your business. Begin with one client, its consulting organization, an active engagement, a scope proposal and service time for a complete review rehearsal.

What is the difference between a client and an organization?

The organization is the consulting firm's operating context. The client is the counterparty receiving work. Each engagement links to both.

How do I record a scope change?

Add a proposal under the existing engagement with its revised scope, service line, proposed fee and validity date. Submit it for independent review.

Who makes the approval decision?

Independent Reviewer records the decision, source revision, date and reason. Engagement Owner prepares the work and reconciles an approved change with the parent engagement.

Where do consultants record time?

Consultant uses service entries linked to the engagement. Each entry can carry a date, worker, hours, approved hours, rate and invoice reference.

How is approved time different from entered time?

Entered hours describe reported work. Approved hours record the amount accepted for the reviewed handoff. Read both before billing.

Where do supporting files go?

Attach them to the engagement with a title and evidence type. Choose internal or shared visibility according to the intended audience.

How do we track an action that fails?

Use the operation receipt's result state, failure reason and references. Operations Lead checks the effect before resolving the exception.

How is billing connected?

Service entries retain invoice references. Agree with the finance team which invoice or batch identifier to place there and verify it against the billing system.

What closes an engagement?

After review and acceptance, Engagement Owner checks linked service, evidence and receipt records and then records the closed status.
