Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set the operating scope

Choose an organization, policyholders and active team members. Assign policy, offer and claim owners.

  2. Prepare policy terms

Enter a policy with coverage lines, dates, premium and the right counterparty. Check revision handling on a changed term.

  3. Rehearse the offer

Submit a trip review with carrier quote and have Offer Reviewer record a decision and reason for the submitted version.

  4. Reconcile external events

Record a carrier result and premium event, then verify the provider identifiers before marking work complete.

  5. Rehearse a claim

Report a loss, assess the policy terms, authorize a benefit and link a verified payment event before closure.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Travel Insurance Platform.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Travel Insurance Platform for your business. Pilot one organization, a small policyholder group, a carrier offer review and a claim decision before widening the operating scope.

Who decides whether a trip offer is accepted?

Offer Reviewer examines the submitted trip review and records an approve, reject or return decision with a reason and the policy revision considered.

Where do the trip details live?

The trip coverage review holds destination, departure date, premium and carrier quote under its parent policy.

How is policy coverage recorded?

Policy Operations adds coverage lines to the policy with a code and, where applicable, a limit, deductible, exclusion and effective range. Later changes can be retained as endorsements.

What shows that a policy was issued?

The policy records its issue date, carrier policy identifier and status after carrier confirmation. The team should check the carrier result against the policy terms.

How do we handle a premium payment?

A premium receipt links the received amount, date and provider event identifier to the policy. Policy Operations verifies the event against the payment provider before marking the receipt Yes.

How does a claim reach a decision?

Claims Specialist records the loss and evidence under the policy, checks the applicable terms and sends the case to Claims Authorizer. The authorizer records the decision, reason and approved benefit amount.

Can a claim payment be traced to its authority?

Yes. The payment record links to both the claim and the claim decision and retains the paid amount, date, provider event identifier and verification state.

What happens when a carrier action fails?

Admin reviews the operation receipt's action, key, expected revision and failure reason. The team resolves the result before treating the operation as complete.

How should we prepare access?

Assign policy, offer, claims and administration responsibilities, then rehearse who can prepare records, decide on them and verify external events. Check organization scope with a sample case.
