Treasury Bills & Bonds · Available now

Settle, collect and reconcile T-bills and bonds under independent approval.

Treasury Bills & Bonds runs the operations behind a treasury's holdings of bills and bonds: the banking instructions that buy, sell and settle them, the independent approval of each instruction, the provider's confirmation, the coupon and maturity cash flows they produce and the bank reconciliation that proves the money moved. A Treasury Preparer drafts each instruction with its counterparty, amount, value date and the balanced debit and credit accounts it touches.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Agree the operating boundary

The scope is treasury operations for bills and bonds: instructions, approval, submission, settlement evidence, coupon and maturity cash flows, balances and reconciliation. Banks, custodians, market data and the ledger remain connected systems. Investment decisions and pricing stay with treasury; Proto prepares configuration for review.

  2. Map the source data

Bring entities, approved counterparties, accounts with external IDs, open instructions and current holdings with coupon and maturity schedules.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Pilot one entity with one custodian and one bank. Run new purchases through approval, submission and settlement and reconcile daily.

  4. Rehearse the exceptions

Return an instruction and approve the revised version. Submit unbalanced account lines. Simulate a submission timeout. Load evidence with a different value date. Reject a short coupon.

  5. Reconcile and release

Compare open instructions, scheduled cash flows and balances with the source. Obtain the treasurer’s acceptance and agree the rollback window before adding entities.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Treasury Bills & Bonds.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Treasury Bills & Bonds for your business. Pilot one entity with one custodian and one bank: run new purchases through approval, submission and settlement, and reconcile daily before adding entities.

Who approves an instruction?

A Treasury Approver independent of the preparer approves, returns or rejects the submitted version after checking mandate, amount, value date and balanced account lines.

What happens if the bank connection times out?

The instruction stays Pending and is never resent automatically. The receipt is reconciled against the bank's evidence before anyone acts again.

When is an instruction confirmed?

When verified confirmation or settlement evidence matches its amount and value date exactly.

How are coupons and maturities tracked?

Each holding's coupons and maturity are scheduled with due date and amounts, linked to the purchase. Each receipt is approved against the custodian's evidence.

How does bank reconciliation work?

Provider movements are matched exactly to instructions on event, amount and date. Differences become exceptions, and each account's balance is rolled forward against the provider's snapshot.

Does it price or value the portfolio?

No. Valuation, accrued interest and accounting entries stay in your portfolio and accounting systems, connected through agreed integrations.

Can we run several legal entities?

Yes. Each entity keeps its own counterparties, accounts, time zone and currency.

What drives the cost?

Ordinary manual use has no per-user charge under the platform policy. Imports, integrations, agent execution and other machine work consume prepaid credits; implementation is scoped separately. The pricing page lists the current rates.
