Ask Proto for the next fact

Use Proto to prepare a load, inspect route decisions and explain delivery exceptions.

It can

  • Dispatcher: Show my planned loads with the next promised delivery time and their route proposal status.
  • Transport Supervisor: List submitted route candidates with their load, revision, estimated miles and stop windows.
  • App Administrator: Find ready vehicles of the required equipment class and drivers whose eligibility extends through the assignment interval.
  • Auditor: Explain a delivered load using its route decision, stop times, attachments and operation receipts.

Stays with a person

  • A person must decide whether a route candidate is acceptable for the load.
  • Proto can assemble the relevant records and point out a changed revision, but Transport Supervisor makes and records the review decision.
  • Dispatcher remains responsible for the operating facts entered during the trip.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set the scope

Choose an organization, its time zone, active partners and the team members who will dispatch and review.

  2. Prepare records

Enter drivers, vehicles, load owners and a representative load with ordered stop windows.

  3. Rehearse review

Submit a route candidate, have Transport Supervisor decide on the current revision and record the reason.

  4. Run dispatch

Hold and confirm an eligible driver and ready vehicle, then record pickup and stop events.

  5. Check outcomes

Record actual delivery, inspect exceptions and receipts, and review the reports with Auditor.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for SCM with Route Optimization.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure SCM with Route Optimization for your business. Start with one organization, one dispatcher, one independent supervisor and a real load with ordered stops.

What does a route proposal contain?

A proposal links to a load and organization. It can carry a revision, estimated miles, capacity units, generation time and optimization version. Submit the candidate the supervisor will actually review.

Who decides whether a route is acceptable?

Transport Supervisor reviews the submitted revision and records an Approve, Reject or Return decision with a reason. Dispatcher prepares the candidate and uses the decision in planning dispatch.

How are drivers and vehicles assigned?

Dispatcher holds a dated assignment interval for a load, driver and vehicle. Check driver eligibility, vehicle readiness, equipment class and capacity before confirmation.

Can the team see stops and arrival times?

Yes. Load stops hold ordered stops, windows, actual arrival and departure times, and a proof reference. Compare those events with the load's promised and actual delivery times.

What happens when a delivery is delayed?

Mark the load Exception, record the observed times and attach the relevant evidence. Transport Supervisor can inspect the route decision and operation outcomes during follow-up.

Where are review reasons kept?

Review decisions store the decision, source revision, reviewer, date and reason against the load. Route Review Queue helps the supervisor find submitted candidates.

How do we inspect failed operations?

An operation receipt can record an action, expected revision, result state and failure reason. Operation Outcomes focuses attention on Failed and Needs Review receipts.

Can we connect GPS or route generation?

Plan those connections during implementation. Agree where route candidates and trip events originate, who maintains them, and how failed updates are reconciled.

Which reports help the first review?

Start with Delivery Promise Performance, Route Proposal Mileage, Stop Arrival Variance and Operation Failure Review. Open the underlying load or receipt when a result needs explanation.
