Prepare the next decision with Proto

Use Proto to prepare order and fulfillment questions for the people who make the decisions.

It can

  • Order Coordinator: Show draft orders with customer, promised date and revision so the coordinator can check confirmation.
  • Fulfillment Operator: Compare ordered, allocated and shipped units for an active order and identify the next physical event to inspect.
  • Label Reviewer: Gather the submitted label revision, order and previous decisions for a review.
  • Operations Reviewer: Gather failed and needs-review receipts with their external references for reconciliation.

Stays with a person

  • People own confirmation, physical event entry, independent label review and refund decisions.
  • An assistant can prepare the record context but must respect access and wait for the authorized person's decision.
  • It should not assume a provider action succeeded because a local request was sent.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Establish identity

Load operating organizations, users, team members, customers and products. Check customer and SKU references with the people who own them.

  2. Prepare order intake

Import a small group of draft orders and lines with stable channel and external order identifiers. Reconcile promised dates, values and quantities.

  3. Walk the fulfillment path

Record allocation, pick, shipment and delivery events against the same order. Include a partial shipment and a repeated external event.

  4. Rehearse decisions

Submit a label revision for independent review. Test rejection, correction and approval, then inspect the decision reason and source revision.

  5. Connect evidence

Bring in payment provider events and supporting attachments. Reconcile a returned order and an uncertain operation receipt before broadening use.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for E-commerce Fulfillment SCM.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure SCM for E-commerce Fulfillment for your business. Start with one organization, a small product catalog and a few real order cases, including a partial shipment.

What identifies an imported order?

The order retains its channel and external order ID. Check that ID and the current revision before confirming a draft.

How do we see what remains to ship?

Compare ordered and shipped units on each order line. A partly shipped order highlights shipment work that remains open.

Does a label mean the parcel shipped?

The label carries its own review state. A Shipped fulfillment event and line quantity record the shipment.

Who reviews a carrier label?

A Label Reviewer examines the submitted revision and records an approve, reject or return decision with a reason.

How are repeated events handled?

Use the event's external ID or operation key to find its first recorded effect before changing the order again.

Where do returns appear?

A Returned fulfillment event records the product, quantity and occurrence date against the order. Payment evidence holds a related provider refund event.

What happens when a provider response is uncertain?

An Operations Reviewer inspects the operation receipt and external reference, checks the connected provider and records the observed outcome.

Can supporting files be shared?

Order attachments carry Internal or Shared visibility. Choose the intended audience when uploading the file.
