Ask Proto about the next case

Ask Proto to help prepare and inspect hazardous stock cases with a person making the decision.

It can

  • Inventory Coordinator: Find my requests in Review and show their required dates and linked hazard checks.
  • Inventory Reviewer: Summarize a submitted hazard check, location eligibility note, lot state and attached evidence before I decide.
  • Stock Operator: Show active reservations and posted movements for the selected item, location and lot.
  • Admin: List inactive locations and the organization responsible for each.

Stays with a person

  • The Inventory Reviewer makes the storage decision.
  • A person confirms the current lot release and expiry before a stock action.
  • A Pending or Failed receipt calls for reconciliation against persisted effects before any retry.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set the operating map

Add organizations, team members, items, lots and locations with eligibility notes.

  2. Define the review

Agree who prepares checks, who independently decides them and which SDS revision is authoritative.

  3. Rehearse a case

Run a request through check, decision, reservation, posted movement and receipt.

  4. Test exceptions

Try a Quarantined or expired lot, changed revision, duplicate operation and partial reversal.

  5. Release the cycle

Assign receipt follow-up and review the outcome of the first operating cases.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Hazardous Materials SCM.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure SCM for Hazardous Materials for your business. Begin with one site, a stocked item, its lots and locations, and a request that can be rehearsed through review and movement.

What goes into a hazard check?

Record the hazard class, checked date, SDS revision and maximum storage units against the selected request.

Who makes the storage decision?

An Inventory Reviewer records an independent decision and reason against the request revision.

How do I see whether a lot can be used?

Read its release state and expiry date together, then check the destination's eligibility note and the reviewed request.

Does a reservation change on-hand stock?

A reservation holds quantity for a request. Posted signed movements record the physical stock change.

How do I find work waiting for review?

Use Requests awaiting review and Hazard checks for decision to inspect the parent request and submitted check.

How do I know a movement happened?

Read its posted signed movement and operation receipt together. The receipt identifies the result and linked effects.

What if an operation needs review?

Compare the receipt's operation key and expected revision with the request and persisted stock effects before retrying.

How is a posted movement corrected?

Append a compensating movement linked to the original through Reverses and keep the original record.

Where do supporting files go?

Attach them to the request with an evidence type and visibility so the reviewer can read them with the case.
