Ask Proto for the next case

Use Proto to prepare freight work and surface decisions for the right person.

It can

  • Dispatcher: Find loads assigned to me with a booking awaiting review and show their promised delivery dates.
  • Transport Supervisor: Summarize submitted container bookings with vessel, ETA, free days and the linked load.
  • App Administrator: Show active vehicles held for readiness review and drivers whose eligibility date is approaching.
  • Auditor: Trace a load's decisions, operation receipts and supporting attachments.

Stays with a person

  • A person confirms a physical pickup or delivery and makes the independent booking decision.
  • Proto can prepare the context and point to the right record; the named reviewer must examine the revision and reason.
  • Vessel ETA changes remain estimates, and a free-time calculation needs actual eligible time and the applicable contract.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Set the scope

Choose an organization, time zone, carrier and named Dispatcher and Transport Supervisor for the pilot.

  2. Prepare master records

Enter the transport partner, eligible drivers, ready vehicles and team members used by the first loads.

  3. Load operating work

Create loads with promises, route stops and container bookings, then add assignment intervals.

  4. Rehearse review

Submit a booking, have a different person record the decision, and inspect its reason and action receipt.

  5. Run delivery

Confirm pickup, record actual stop times, complete a delivery and keep a partial delivery as an explicit exception.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for SCM with Container Tracking.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure SCM with Container Tracking for your business. Start with one organization, carrier, load, container booking and route whose handoffs your team can verify.

Where does a container booking belong?

Link it to the selected load and organization. The booking carries the container number, vessel, ETA, free days and its own review status.

Who reviews a submitted booking?

A Transport Supervisor examines the current submitted revision and records a decision with a reason. Keep the decision evidence linked to the load, then check the booking status separately before the next handoff.

Does a changed ETA alter the delivery promise?

No. The ETA is a vessel estimate. The load keeps its promised delivery date so dispatch can compare the promise with actual events.

How do we plan the road movement?

Record route stops with planned windows, then assign a driver and vehicle for a start and end interval. Check eligibility and readiness before dispatch.

What confirms that pickup happened?

Record the load's actual pickup time. The load can then move from Dispatched to in transit with an action receipt.

How do we handle a partial delivery?

Keep the load in an explicit exception state and attach the relevant stop or delivery evidence. A recorded timestamp alone does not settle the exception.

Where can we inspect a failed action?

Open its operation receipt to see the action, operation key, expected revision, result and failure reason. The Transport Supervisor compares it with the linked load before reconciliation.

Can we calculate demurrage from ETA and free days?

A charge needs actual eligible time and the applicable contract. Use the booking's ETA and free days as operating context while arranging the external commercial process.
