What changes for this team

configured at rollout

Wholesale warehouses need to move larger quantities while keeping each customer's order and shipping instructions intact. A regional distribution center may combine case picking, full-pallet work and parcel orders in one building. Configure Warehouse Management around the customer's routing guide, the available equipment and the carrier exchanges that have been verified for your accounts.

Keep units consistent

Preserve the quantity and unit on the source line, with the conversion into the item's base unit. Receiving a pallet and later picking cases must refer to the same stock quantity, including any lot or serial identity the item requires.

Move containers without losing their contents

License plates identify pallets and cartons. When cartons are nested on a pallet, preserve their individual contents and ownership; a parent container must not create another copy of its children's inventory.

Plan work for the right equipment

Use location, zone and handling requirements when assigning full-pallet and case tasks. Keep the order-line claim through the pick and verify any change of container or destination before confirming the movement.

Build shipments around the consignee

Consolidate eligible orders according to the configured shipment and carrier rules. Confirm freight details, weights and required documents against the staged load. A bill of lading or closed manifest does not itself prove the carrier collected it.

Validate customer labels and notices

Retain the identifiers required by the receiving party. An SSCC identifies a logistics unit such as a case or pallet; its allocation and label format need the appropriate customer and GS1 setup. Verify the notice and physical label together before rollout.

Resolve differences at receiving

Compare expected lines with immutable receiving confirmations. Later picking must not change the original receipt quantity. Route overs, shortages and damaged goods to the responsible people with their evidence.

Make exceptions visible

Keep holds, incomplete replenishment and unresolved carrier outcomes with the affected work. Shipping authority cannot waive missing stock, an invalid label or an unverified quantity simply to close the day.

Common questions

All questions
Who releases a picking wave?

The Warehouse Manager reviews the proposed work, shipping cutoffs and replenishment needs. A Shift Supervisor can release within a valid delegation. Stock reservations and planning ownership are checked before work becomes released pick tasks.

Related question
How are the cartons chosen?

Carton planning uses item quantities, dimensions, weights and the configured carton catalog. Planned contents stay linked to order lines. Packing verifies actual contents and weight; missing data or a mismatch needs resolution before labeling and shipping.

Related question
Which carriers can we connect?

Confirm the supported connector, account, service and required documents for each parcel or freight carrier. Adding catalog information is different from implementing another carrier connection. Test labels, uncertain responses, voids and handover evidence before rollout.

Related question
Does it support lots, serials and expiry dates?

The model carries controlled-stock identity through receiving evidence, current inventory and recorded movements into picked and packed contents. Required identity must be captured before the stock can proceed. Shelf-life and hold rules determine eligibility for a particular order; customer and quality requirements need configuration.

Related question
How are stock counts handled?

Counts retain the location and stock identity being checked, with a controlled boundary for concurrent warehouse work. Differences can require a recount and a stock correction. Value thresholds determine the confirmation or independent approval required; missing cost and stale evidence need review.

Related question
Does it calculate inventory value?

Warehouse Management owns the documented physical quantity and location workflow. The financial inventory system owns valuation. Agree stock-event and snapshot behavior with that destination so reconciliation does not duplicate postings. Item cost here supports adjustment decisions.

Related question
Can we run multiple warehouses?

The model separates warehouses, locations, work and authority by site. Floor access is scoped to assigned warehouses; authorized managers can oversee more than one. Inter-site handoffs and the financial posting owner need explicit rollout design.

Related question
How long does a rollout take?

Timing depends on the source data, building setup, devices, connections and work that needs migration. Plan rehearsals and readiness checks with the implementation team. A clean switch between completed waves is the baseline; migrating in-flight picks or carrier commitments needs additional scope.
